1. Information We Collect

When you use Grand Gather Registry ("GGR", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Grand Gather Registry (Pty) Ltd, we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, and any event-related data you enter (guest lists, event details, gift registries).

Google Sign-In Data

If you choose to sign in with Google, we request access to your Google account's basic profile information: name, email address, profile picture, and Google account ID (OpenID Connect scopes: openid, profile, email). We use this data solely to:

• Create and authenticate your GGR account without requiring a separate password
• Display your name and profile picture within the platform
• Send you account-related communications (event updates, invitations, reminders)

Your Google data is stored securely alongside your GGR account and is never sold, shared with third parties for their own purposes, or used for advertising. Profile pictures are stored for the life of your account. You can disconnect Google Sign-In and convert to email/password login at any time by contacting support@grandgatherregistry.co.za.

If you sign in with Facebook, we similarly receive your profile name, email, and profile picture from Facebook.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve our services, including creating and managing events, sending invitations and reminders via WhatsApp and email, processing gift contributions and payments, and communicating with you about your account.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate our platform (payment processors, email/SMS providers), event hosts when you RSVP to their events, and when required by law.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing (bcrypt), server-side verification of third-party authentication tokens (Google, Facebook), and role-based access controls. Your Google ID tokens are verified against Google's servers before we accept them.

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@grandgatherregistry.co.za or using our data deletion page.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your session and preferences. These include authentication tokens (ggr_token), user profile data (ggr_user), notification preferences (ggr_sound), and your cookie consent choice (cookie_consent). Third-party services (Google, Facebook, Paystack) may set their own cookies for authentication, security, and payment processing.

7. AI Data Processing

Grand Gather Registry uses artificial intelligence, including Google Gemini, to power our AI assistant GiGi. When you interact with GiGi, the following data processing terms apply:

• Data processed by AI: GiGi may process event details, preferences, and queries you submit to provide personalised event planning assistance, vendor recommendations, and guest management support.
• AI provider: GiGi is powered by Google Gemini, a large language model provided by Google LLC. Data sent to Google Gemini is processed in accordance with Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum (CDPA) and Google's AI/ML Privacy Policy.
• Data minimisation: We do not send full personal identities to the AI model. Only anonymised or aggregated event data, user preferences, and conversation context are transmitted.
• No training on your data: Under our Google Cloud agreement, your data is not used to train or improve Google's base AI models. Your inputs and outputs remain your intellectual property.
• Human review: GiGi's AI-generated suggestions are advisory only. Users should review and confirm recommendations before making final decisions.
• Opt-out: You may use GGR without interacting with GiGi. AI assistance is an optional feature and your account functions fully without it.
